Middlesex University
Guarantor Service
Provided by Housing Hand
Housing Hand is proud to partner with Middlesex University to help UK, EU and International students, provide a qualifying UK Guarantor.

What is a guarantor?
A rent guarantor is someone who legally takes responsibility for your rent if you are unable to pay.
Having a guarantor proves to landlords and accommodation providers that you can meet rent and bill requirements, especially in cases where you haven’t had a chance to build up a favourable credit score yet.
At Housing Hand, our mission is to make renting easier by providing a UK guarantor to everyone who doesn’t have one.

What does it cover?
Our role is to cover the rent you have agreed with your accommodation provider. If you were to miss a payment, the accommodation provider would contact us in order to make the payment. Once this payment has been made, we will contact you to let you know we have made the payment and to organise an interest-free payment plan to repay us for the rent we have covered.
We can stand as a guarantor the duration of the tenancy. Students not involved in a periodic tenancy will have to renew their guarantee after 12 months.

What does it cost?
Due to our partnership with Middlesex University, we are able to offer you a discount on our fee.
Our fee can be paid via a monthly subscription or at a discounted one-off payment.
For example, if your average rent was £1,200 a month - the monthly subscription fee would be £67 or a one-off payment of £764.
This is in comparison to our standard fee which would be £117 a month or a one off-payment of £1,329.

How to apply
Our service is quick, easy and simple to use. As a Middlesex University student, you can apply here.
You must complete the Housing Hand application form and the accommodation provider must accept. Then Housing Hand confirms your acceptance onto the service.
